In the Upfront magazine, there is an article that talks about the Occupy movement and the Tea Party Movement. (Pg. 12-13). Many people say that it is hard to tell the two apart. They have the same views of the economy and how it affects the society around us. The big factor that differentiates the party from the other is who they blame for the problems that exist in our world today. The tea party blames it all on the government and how they need to be removed from society. The Occupy movement blames the banks, powerful and the rich for the problems in society.
I can see how easy it is for people to be confused between the two groups. However it is not too hard to identify the one from the other. As mentioned above, the motives between the two are the same, but the targets are different. I have seen member of both parties in several cases and I was able to pick the two groups apart. The thing to watch for is the things that they have on their protest signs. Two examples of these kind of signs are pictured on page 12 of the magazine. If you can pay close attention to what those signs say...it can be relatively easy to figure out which group they belong to.
