Week 16 Blog

Today (Wednesday) was the day that Peyton Manning is getting an x-ray on his neck.  Although no new info has been given on the extent of his injuries, many fear that when he plans to give his next conference, he will give a retirement statement.  Many fear that he will be done with football due to this injury.  Others believe that he will be traded for someone else in the offseason.  So now many fear that the man who led the Colts to the 2007 superbowl may be over with his career a little earlier than he wanted.

In my opinion, I believe he is just needing a little time before he can play again.  Many of these people are thinking these things because he has not played a down at all this season.  So what? Some injuries take a lot of time to recover from and so these people just need to calm themselves down.  If we give him the offseason to fully recover, i bet that he will be playing next season...

Week 15 Blog

As many of us have heard, there currently is a story out about of the students of IU that has been arrested in Egypt. The egyptian government has accused 21 year old Luke Gates of throwing fire bombs at Police during a protest against the Egyptian Government.  The country is currently controlled by a military leader and the people of the country only want him to step down.  Luke was held there for a few days before being released Thursday, November 24.  There was an investigation about whether he was involved with the demonstrations in Egypt.  IU has told its students to not get involved at all while they are studying down there.  Sadly, many people have discovered several of his tweets to reveal his participation in the riots to be true.  He has mentioned in one of the tweets this: "I never wanted to come here if i didnt know it was going to be ok, [and] honestly, hopefully i die here."

This quote and more can be found here at this site

After reading what the student said about the riots in Egypt, I am shocked by how he chose to completely disobey the rules IU set about this situation and do that.  Although, I can see a reason for why he chose to act out in this manner since the country has been under a dictatorship.  He is merely trying to show that he supports the protesters and their desires to remove the military's power in the country.  However, I believe that what he did there was foolish and stupid.  Since he is visiting a country, he does not technically have the rights that those people have who actually live their lives in Egypt.

Week 14 Blog

As many of us may have heard...Indiana is working for a Smoking ban. They main goal to targeting bars and other places. Many believe that the bill will never pass.  The exemptions they put on the bill has got many representatives wanting to sign the bill. The main reason behind this bill is to lower the amount of smoke that is in work areas around the state.  They are hoping that this bill will lower the cases of lung cancer in the state.

In my opinion, I believe that this bill should be passed.  I lost a grandfather that I never got to meet to lung cancer. My only desire for this bill passing is so that families will be able to have their relatives live peacefully and not have to worry about the cases of cancer in the area.  I also have problems with cigarette smoke. So this bill being passed will help me not have to worry so much about respiratory issues.

Week 13 Blog

As many of us have heard, there have been a number of ladies who have decided to accuse Herman Cain of sexual misconduct. They have reported to people that when he was younger.  They have said that he has done this to all of them and should not be allowed to become president.  This has really impacted the effect of Herman Cain's campaign. It has caused him to lose a lot of support and several are even criticizing him for his actions.  Cain has spent several days of this matter to fight against these claims saying that he has never done such a thing in his past time.

In my opinion, I believe that these girls are lying.  First of all, I strongly support the republicans and i think that they are doing this to get some recognition and to harm the election in the democrat's favor.  They are probably trying to get money of this joke of a claim.  I think that the democrats told them to do something  like this so that they could gain some support because of Obama's inability to handle our society.  These Democrats have been doing these evil things in order to get a chance to win the elections and ruin another 4 years of America's history.

Week 12 Blog

One of the "What would you do?" shows we watched mentioned a group of people who would go and beat up a homeless person. It made people aware that those who were less fortunate in their lives were constant victims of beatings and maybe even severe injuries from attackers.  This is usually caused by some young kids (primarily teenagers) but however the ages are starting to fall even more. Several videos have been on Youtube displaying this type of behavior and those who attack the homeless man are not afraid to use anything against them.  Some videos shows people using a steel pipe to smack them in the head with and others used baseball bats.  The link below is to a youtube video that someone recorded as he noticed that a group of guys were mistreating a beggar.  He recorded the video for the police to have evidence of the attackers.

In my opinion, this is a completely wrong thing for anyone in our society to do.  What makes things worse is that young kids have even done it to several homeless people.  I know they may be down on their luck, but to me,  they should still be treated equally like everyone else.  Unfortunately, society has, in my opinion, evolved into a very dangerous and unfriendly atmosphere.  People, like those attackers, care for no one but themselves and will be more than happy to prove their strength to the public.
