As many of us may have heard...Indiana is working for a Smoking ban. They main goal to targeting bars and other places. Many believe that the bill will never pass. The exemptions they put on the bill has got many representatives wanting to sign the bill. The main reason behind this bill is to lower the amount of smoke that is in work areas around the state. They are hoping that this bill will lower the cases of lung cancer in the state.

In my opinion, I believe that this bill should be passed. I lost a grandfather that I never got to meet to lung cancer. My only desire for this bill passing is so that families will be able to have their relatives live peacefully and not have to worry about the cases of cancer in the area. I also have problems with cigarette smoke. So this bill being passed will help me not have to worry so much about respiratory issues.
I agree with Chris in this blog, as Indiana is one of just a few states that has passed the no smoking in public places law. My parents own a pub so they are around smoke at all times during the work day. If this law were passed, their health would probably get better and I believe more people would come in and do business. I still do not see how Indiana/Indianapolis hasn't passed this ban yet. It is one of the things that has been a positive factor of this millennium for many states/cities.
ReplyDeleteI believe the bill should be passed because of the fact that many smokers don't want to be around second hand smokers. A ban like this has already passed in Marion county a couple of years and when I do go out of county or state to eat it's hard to eat when I can smell smoke in the restaurant.
